Long-distance move from Chandler, AZ to Coos Bay, OR

License revoked

Don't use. They breached my contact and kept my $2500 deposit, blocked my phone number. Received two emails stating they would return my deposit. That was August 2021. Screw this company. Better Business Bureau says their license was revoked

Never show up

This company is scam, 2 weeks before I move a sign a contract online with them “ which I never emailed a copy of”

In the day of moving they ask to delay one day, the next day never show up and excuse they had big order before me. I’m end up now with two house rents, packed furniture and electric line cut off in middle of winter. And stolen down payment

Official company response

You where issued a full refund of $717 dollars and the claims you are making about my company are false. Thomas called you directly after issuing you a full refund.

Long-distance move from Sarasota, FL to Oklahoma City, OK

Hopeful

I called them today...I spoke with Thomas and scheduled a move(February 24. 2021). I put 1,100.00 down on a long distance move from SarasotaFl to Oklahoma City OK...Prior to contacting this company, I was considering another moving company. Thomas was so pleasant on the phone, I decided to just put my trust in this company...Michael verified everything and was very pleasant as well...Afterwards, I contacted the representative from the other moving company and told him that I hired Complete Van Lines and will no longer be needing an estimate from him....That representative went out of his way to convince me that I'm involved in a scam. I was almost convinced! I'm happy that I came across these reviews. I also called Michael back and expressed my concern. He was most reasurring. I am still feeling nervous but I am going to move forward with Complete Van Lines. Their price quote was fair and reasonable and Michael assured me that he will hold my hand(so to speak)every step of the way. I will be providing an update once my move is complete(March 1st).

Long-distance move from Chicago, IL to West Memphis, AR

One of the worst moving companies and experience ever!!!!

One of the reasons I chose this company to move my moms furniture is because of their supposed to be good ratings, which in no way can be true. I hired CV to pick up on 4/6/21 between the hours of 8-2pm, because my mom was moving out of a senior citizens building and they had certain time to shut down the elevator for movers use. The movers did arrive until 4pm, but the building manager was willing to stay late. The next surprise was I had already gotten a price for $1.550. and and that changed to $2,200 after I had already given them a $500. deposit , now I will admit my box count did change from 15 to about 22 so what is that? 7 boxes and a couple of folding chairs and a ironing board, so how much weight or space would that be? And to let you know the guy I originally talked to [NAME EDIT] who will no longer answer the phone when I call and then I started talking to another guy name Scott who was the one that changed my contract and after that I couldn’t reach him anymore. Now comes the the big [EDIT]!!! So the movers estimated that my moms furniture was going to take up more room than what it was fits estimated for, it went from 300 cubic square feet to 800 l, when [NAME EDIT] first told me that they don’t charge by the weight and my moms furniture will be the only furniture on the truck and CV brokered the job out to another company, Stop and Move. Now I have to give them another $1,695. deposit, and still have to pay another $951. upon delivery and the $51. Is for som BS movers fee, also I’m wondering why are they charging me for 500 cubic square feet when my moms furniture is supposed to be the only furniture on the truck and they’re using a 26 foot Budget Rental Truck. Next, I asked the movers when would they deliver my moms furniture which is approximately 530 miles from Chicago, he said 4-5 days which they picked up on 4/6/21 Tuesday so I asked why so long it’s only a 10 hour drive. He said he didn’t know, so the following Tuesday comes and still no movers, so I called CV and this is when I find out that the company that pick up my moms furniture was Stop and Move a brokered company, so I called them to find out when my moms furniture will be delivered, the lady on the phone said by the end of the week, so that would be 4/17/21. Still no movers, so I called her again and she tells me that the drivers are allowed up to 14 day from pick up to deliver the furniture. So trying to shorten this story, here it is 4/29/21 the just not showing up with my moms furniture, the drive called me at 10:00pm 4/28/21 to let be know that they will be delivering my moms furniture, what happened to the 24 hours notice. I have a few choices words for all these SOB, but it’s not really worth it. I know from now on I will never use another moving company for anything and I will strongly advise other to beware of companies like this, I believe they post all of the good reviews they have on their sites, because from my experience none the shit that’s on there is true. Long-distance move from Albuquerque, NM to Hartford, SD

Scammers

These are some of the copies where I wanted file a complaint even with the Attorney General's office here in South Dakota. I have also included the original copy of the agreement with Complete van lines and the one they sent to you shows higher price than original which [was negotiated for $4600] we have in hand. Also, when we did get the furniture, I was not allowed to look at the contents until I gave the driver a cashier's check for $2700 and he was only 1 person who was unloading the truck, I had to help unload. In addition, he did not set the furniture up like the agreement stated. The truck was the same size that company used to pick up our furniture and the same size truck when it was delivered. Truck had 2 other families' contents on the truck. Originally, we were asked about how many items we had to move and it was 45 items. They recorded 49 on the contract. Later, we found out they go by cubic feet which they did not warn us about. The movers were very young native American boys and it took a long time for them to load and I told my wife they pack the truck the way so it looks like our 45 items use more cubic feet. I could have used less than half of that truck I am sure the Young boys were instructed to do this. We had to give them $1700 as agreed by contract. When they had finished, they said we used more cubic feet and wanted another $4000 to move us. my wife was talking back and forth with Nationwide representative and eventually had to agree to use Citi Visa credit card to give $2000 and upon delivery instead of $1711 I had to give $2700. So total amount they received from us is $ 7620 which include deposit $1220. Final document of dispute as you find out was forged as well as original contract with Van lines. There was no offering of $500 as they stated, pink copy we have was enough as driver stated. So, he did not offer to give us a copy of his contract. Our copy has no date of delivery at all. I also think that after I have signed delivery, scribble of $500 was added (that was not my initials by that). The biggest reason I would like to continue dispute due to damage to many items of furniture. A flat screen TV had a broken screen (driver witnessed it as well) and HP computer also had cracked screen and both need to be recycled. I tried to contact Van lines about reimbursement for damaged goods. At first, they promised to send me reimbursement form. Then after several days, when I have not received any paperwork, I had tried to call them but apparently, I was blocked from reaching them even though I have tried numerous times.

In conclusion I would like to say that the both companies are scammers and experienced in forging contracts as well as lying to trusting public. I also will send pictures of damaged items at the best of my ability via separate e-mail. Finally, I will contact Attorney General in Florida where Complete Van Lines is originated from.

Thank you for attention to my letter.

S0incerely, Terry Gray and Larissa Balint.

Long-distance move from Minneapolis, MN to Jacksonville, FL

Terrible (Don’t do it )

Horrible company . I should have known to go else where after I received that follow up call from Beth . She was rude and acted as if I wasn’t paying for a service. Please shop around . I was excited to use them as I was offered a reasonable rate of 1500. When the drivers came (3 days late )they asked for 250 more (which wasn’t discussed. I had no issues paying the additional funds as I just wanted my stuff moved . They were kind in the beginning but after they picked your things up things went south from there . I had a hard time connecting to anyone and for a minute thought I was scammed . They eventually got back to me 9 later and advised that my things will be dropped off in 3 days . When my things finally got here the driver didn’t want to enter my complex as he had an 18 wheeler and wanted to rent a $20 Uhual/ Home Depot truck to drop my things off . I paid 250 for that (truck cost him around 30). I had to pay 75 because I lived on the second floor as well. When they pulled up the driver had a gentleman assisting him . They damaged my bed and lost my bed railings.About 3-5 of my boxes and additional items are unaccounted for .The driver stated he was going back to the truck for the additional items and took off and blocked me .The gentleman assisting the driver stated he was a drug user and the driver hired him to assist with my move for $50. To make matters worst I’ve been trying for the last 2 weeks to have someone assist me with my lost items but no one answers the phone. To anyone who is moving cross country please reconsider . What should have been an amazing transition for me turned into a nightmare with this company . Again please shop around .I have been more than patient with them and it just clicked that they don’t care what happens to you or your stuff .

Long Distance move From Houma Louisiana to Aberdeen South Dakota

There isn't enough space to say how bad this moving company is. But I'll try. 1st they do not own or operate any moving trucks or employee any drivers . they contract everything out. They grossly under estimate the size of your move to get the business making it seem like a sweetheart deal. When your driver pulls up in a "rental truck" he has a whole new set of rules about crating certain things like anything with glass, ie... grandfather clocks, entertainment centers, basically anything with a glass panel. This is another charge and it's not small. So you show him that these things are listed on the move and he's like, I don't know these people, I'm on the phone with MY boss (another company) and I can't move these items if they aren't crated. 300.00 PER CRATED ITEM!!!. I call Complete van lines and finally get a human. and they are no help at all. Ok so long story short. I ended up having friends do a yard sale to sell my washer/dryer, refrigerator and many items that just would not go on this truck so we could empty and clean our house to put on the market and sell. It took 11 days once we got to South Dakota to finally get our furniture, cloths, and basic living essentials. Once it arrived the driver sat in the truck for an hour on his phone. he gets out and tells us his helpers backed out on him. So there we stand with a semi in the drive and no one to unload the truck., After about 2 hours I called a local moving company and we borrowed 2 guys to help unload which thankfully the driver had to pay. Now the really ugly,,,, The grandfather clock (crated) had a side grass panel busted out. One of our dinette chairs had a broken leg. An end table had a broken leg. Our entertainment center had a large piece of molding completely broken off.. Our deep freeze electric panel was broken off exposing all the wires and dents in the door with shoeprints as if someone had ben standing/jumping up and down on it. . Several broken plates , dishes and glasses that we packed in foam and bubble wrap. Boxes came in that were untapped with the wrong size lids on them as if someone went through them. I cannot emphasize enough how horrible the whole experience was. I doubt we will be reimbursed for any damages since we didn't buy the really expensive insurance. My advice... do not hire any moving companies off the internet (as I did) Call Allied Van Lines or Mayflower and save yourself a lot of grief. This is probably going to be taken down quickly so please screen shot it and save it and post it elsewhere. This is a bad company.

Based on my experience, I don't recommend it

It is true that they are very kind when you request an estimate. in fact I signed a contract and paid a deposit. When the day came for the carrier to pick up my belongings, the nightmare began. The carrier did not agree with the estimate and did not understand how the cubic fit was calculated. The carrier calculated a higher price for the same list.He told me that the estimate the broker had made me was very low. Also explained to me that this is very common if you deal with a broker. It is better to look for the direct rate with the carriers to avoid deception. at that point you have two options: pay more money or lose your deposit. I hope my experience helps you think twice and avoid going through that

Will not accept responsibility

They are a broker and don't accept responsibility for their subcontractors. They don't call back. It's been over a month and I still don't have our belongings. We're sleeping on the floor. They do not provide any tracking as they advertise. They have never called us back with the information we request. Please do not use for your own sake. Good Work

These guys are amazing. We need some professional movers to move our office. We started searching on Yelp and found them. They received a very high rating; we felt pretty confident that they would do a good job. We booked our ride from them. These guys came on time and started working. They packed all our stuff with some extra and moved us in 4 hours only without any damage. I highly recommend it to them.

Rude liars take your money

They lie and constantly tell you something different from one day to the next. Then ask for money upfront without having a mover lined up and committed. Customer service is terrible and you'll never talk to the same person. They say the previous person misinformed you to backup what they are telling you. They are not reputable and cannot be trusted at all. They are a waste of your time and money.

Do your research

Unless you are moving across the street do not use these people for cross country moves. Still waiting almost a month from pick up. Now they claim it could be up to 21 days from a delivery date you gave them. Of course they don’t tell you that at pickup. make sure you take all necessary medical needs as you will be without them for a Long while. Living on a purchased blow up bed and boxes for tables. Extorted and robbed

I booked my move with Complete Van Lines a week before my move. They quoted me based on an inventory of items that I gave them, quoted by an Anthony, confirmed by a Thomas. I should have known something was wrong when they needed certified funds, Zelle, Venmo, etc. This is how they extort you later.

I was told that they would call me the day before the move to confirm my pick up time. I had to call 3 times and they tried moving my date. I got them to do it the day they had promised, but it was a hassle (7 p.m. the night before my 8 a.m. pick up is when they finally confirmed.)

The movers showed up and immediately told me it was way more than they thought. I had 2 options, pay an additional $2500 than quoted or lose my deposit. I tried calling Complete van lines, but no surprise, they didn't answer the phone. Of course I had to pay as this was moving day and I had no other options. They tried charging extra for bulky items and told me things needed to be crated.

I had a brief argument with the movers about this, and the explanation they gave me is that "Complete Van Lines does this all the time, they give a low price to get you to book with them." They said they were told it was approximately 789 cubic feet.

I ended up paying all this extra money and I got about 60% of my original items on the truck, 1300 cubic feet. I now have to do double the work and make another 5 or 6 trips with my pick up truck to finish it before the end of the month. If I had them take everything it would have been well over 1600 cubic feet and I can't imagine how much more it would have cost me.

No response to my email from the company as of yet.

Long-distance move from Hanover, NH to New York, NY

It’s a scam

I scheduled a move from New Hampshire to New York City. They asked me to Zelle $1980 as deposit, but they never sent me the signed contract. On the day of the move the movers didn’t show up. When I call CVL customer service, they were basically yelling at me. I asked they when the movers will be here, and they basically told me they cannot get in contact with the mover. I said your sales guy Andrew promised that the guys will be here at 10 o’clock but the customer service guy Frank said they never promised a time and Andrew shouldn’t be promising a certain time. They ignored all the questions I asked, and the only answer they can give were they cannot get in contact with the mover. CVL also refused to work out a contingency plan. I ended up waiting for the whole day, but never saw the movers. It’s a scam the company doesn’t have any movers. They also don’t provide any moving service all they do is ask you to pay overly expensive deposit and never deliver the service.

WORST COMPANY EVER

They gave us a date for pick up and didn’t show up. We waited TWO days, they gave us estimated dates and still, they didn’t show up. Their excuse was that the truck broke down and they weren’t able to call (Big BS right there), so we rescheduled it for another week, made us wait those 5 extra days before they called us and cancelled. We could’ve booked a moving company if they only told us sooner. This is the WORST company ever created and would not wish it upon my enemies. Giving them one star is mercy, I would definitely give them zero if I can. It is almost impossible to get ahold of their customer service, it says that the customer reps are busy taking other calls which I highly doubt because who would want to hire the WORST moving company EVER? I regret even wasting my time. This pushed my moving plan WAAAY back because of how USELESS, STUPID, and UNPROFESSIONAL this moving company is. They should just shut down their stupid company.

Unprofessional and Shady!

This company took my deposit, never showed up to pick up our stuff 2 times! Then once I finally got to talk to someone they said "if" they can pick up our stuff it will be 3 times the amount we were quoted. We stated we could not do that and they just gave a bunch of rude excuses on why it was going to now cost a ridiculous amount. The man on the phone said he would issue us a refund for our deposit since NO services were provided. He then hung up on me!! I called back to find out if we were indeed going to get our refund and he hung up before even speaking that time. Then I called again and talked to someone else and they literally defended the other employees actions. I said I just wanted to know if my refund was being processed and this man also GUARANTEED me that we were being refunded and then he also hung up on me! 6 weeks later we have NOT received our $800 deposit and they will not answer the phone or return our messages. They are criminals and at this point I am going to take legal action to get me money back and try to help future people from making the same decision to use their company. As if the world isn't hard enough these days then you have people like this that literally steal your money! No services were provided, give me my deposit back!!

Terrible! They are BROKERS!

Don’t even know where to begin. PLEASE look them up on BBB and FMCSA! We called to have a wood shop/art studio/ tools moved. They contracted a company called Leadership Logistics inc. who DOUBLED the price to over 13,000.. The movers said the brokers gave them NO info about the tools we were moving and that they were told it was just basic house stuff. Like others we were suckered and out of time and had no other choice but to pay them. After pick up the movers ghosted us. Our things are missing- when we called to get info about the moving company we’ve been given the run around. After the first two weeks of being ghosted CVL told us they spoke to the driver of Leadership Logistics and our things are on their way. Two weeks later we were told the same. We’ve been told this for a month! We have no idea where our things are. The LLInc. Movers WILL not answer our calls and the office phone listed is disconnected. Again- tried to explain this to CVL - that we have seen and are in contact with over 8 people this is currently happening to- thinking maybe CVL is not aware- but they said they do business with them all the time and never had a problem. No managers available no supervisors available. And sadly, aside from filing a lawsuit, no recourse. Also if LEADERSHIP LOgISTICS shows at your door-do yourself a favor and just throw your money and items in the trash. You’may never get them back and if you do they’ll be damaged.

Move services

This company is incompetent and completely unprofessional. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. We scheduled a cross country move, paid for the move and the move was not performed as they did not show up on the move date, nor did they offer a rescheduled time. They did not respond to calls, voice mail, and never called back to resolve. The dispatcher eventually gave us the contact information of their subcontractor who told us they could not schedule a move until a week later and since it was schedule driven, we should cancel. We found an alternative mover last minute who was able to accommodate us at our own expense.

Still no refund from Complete Vanlines for the services they did not provide. They take no responsibility for not performing their obligations, perform no services, and still take your money. Rude, incompetent customer service, terrible management, no follow up when they do not meet their obligations. The worst moving company I have ever experienced over 5 cross country and two international moves. Do not waste your time or money with this company. There are good ones out there, but this is not one.

I would give them a zero star rating if it was an option.

Long-distance move from Chula Vista, CA to Las Vegas, NV

Don't do it

The WORST experience I have ever had in moving, which means a lot because moving sucks. I dealt with Frank Larosa initially, who swore to me that they could pick up my stuff, and deliver with in two days (I was moving from San Diego to Las Vegas, so around 350 miles). I had gotten several quotes, one of which was $600 cheaper because they admitted they could not guarantee my stuff would arrive by a certain date. Frank assured me they were not like that, and that they would pick up my belongings on 6/18, and deliver on either 6/20 or 6/21. He also told me that if I was going to use bags to keep my clothes on the hangers that would be no problem (the competitor told me that would not be possible, and all clothes needed to be boxed).

Well on 6/17, I had not received any call from the moving company to confirm the time to expect them on 6/18, so I began calling them. I was then told they brokered my move out to another company, and that company informed me they would not be arriving until 6/19, and that my clothes must be boxed or they would not take them. Because the complex I moved to was closed on Sundays I needed to get on the road on Saturday in order to sign the paperwork and get my keys, so my old roommate had to make sure to be home to let the movers in.

Complete Van Lines wouldn't do anything to help. They told me Frank had passed away so they could not verify what he said. It was too late to find another moving company, so I had to suck it up and buy some boxes to pack my clothes, at the last minute. On the day of the move, they were supposed to arrive by 10am, but as of 1pm they had not even called to say they were on the way, so I told my roommate to go on about her day, and that I'd have to find another way to move my belongings.

They called her at 3pm (again for a pick up that was supposed to be before 10am!!!!), and luckily she was home. They did not arrive however until 6pm! They told her that I would have to call in and pay the rest of the money owed before they would deliver my stuff, and the best part my stuff would be arriving in "hopefully a week or two".

Again what I was promised was a blatant lie! Complete Van Lines still stood by the fact that Frank is dead, so they cannot verify what he may have promised me. My stuff arrived about a week later, meanwhile I had to buy clothes and household goods because there was no firm date as to when my things would arrive. I contacted Complete Van Lines and requested some sort of compensation for the lies, inconvenience and overall bad service and have been completely ignored. Do yourself a favor, and stay FAR away from these crooks.

Long-distance move from Eureka, CA to Buffalo, NY

Do not recommend.

I would absolutely not recommend this company for moving. I was given a quote and the sales person calculated that we had 5,000 pounds of things to be moved and based the price off of that. I paid the deposit but then looked into the weight of our things last time we moved, and it was 10,000 pounds. After reading reviews about movers showing up and there being way more than the estimated weight, we tried to get them to change the weight but they were firm on what they had calculated, so I canceled within 12 hours. According to the contract, if you cancel within 72 hours you get a refund. It has been THREE MONTHS and I still have no refund and have called multiple times. I keep being told that it's processing. Maybe if you're doing a local move or have only a few things it's okay, but we are now out a couple thousand dollars and we have not seen a penny of it refunded despite being told many times that it's processing and we should see it "by Friday" every time we called.

Complete Van lines LLC came recommended, and I recommend them, too! We moved in with my mother after my dad passed, moving about 7 years ago, which means this week we had to move a combined household... that's still collecting stuff. Move from La to NY

Anthony lied to me from the get go. I gave them a deposit then i seen all these bad reviews about their company and even called him back thinking about a refund within the alotted time frame but Anthony assured me they hire 4 or 5 really good moving companies to move me. This was my response from a direct question, Are you a broker?. Then i was worried about a week into it I had alot of boxes and I told Anthony that i was gonna have alot but called him when i knew about how many more.He redid my so called contract which,I know now is not a contract its just an estimate. They can sugar coat it anyway they want but I am an exprerienced mover and had told them everything I had and no way should the movers show up and charge me 6000 more to move my stuff which i had no choice but to pay it. Anthony gave me what they call an estimate and i told him everythin I had so 6,000 with all the experience he had with the company is a lot far off. so dont tell me oh nothing to worry about they wont show up and charge that much more if they did. Its not like it would be thousands of dollars or anything. usa logistics did a good job packing and unloading its just the lies in the middle. Also i had no communication about where my stuff was for at least a week. That was sad. Anyway they are indeed a broker so just me the truth about my price,Anthony, remember, I told you at least 2 times how I hate surprises.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM - PLEASE READ

When I booked with Chris, I informed him that I needed my items delivered within the next month before I left for my wedding in Mexico before I booked. I was moving across the US before my wedding, and couldn't take everything I needed with me on my flight. Chris ASSURED me that everything would get to me within plenty of time before I left. I was considering using PODS, but Chris said they deliver items within 7-10 business days. He never told me that they brokered me out, so he had no idea how long it would actually take. Flash forward to the time frame Chris said it would be delivered in, and not word from them. I called and emailed so many times with no response. I finally got my dad in on it and after being on hold and having to recall for 2 hours, he got ahold of someone. They informed him that they had no idea where my things were, and that they had no control over when it would be delivered (then why tell me in the beginning you did???). I reminded them of my situation and that I needed my things before I left for 2 weeks FOR MY WEDDING. They never got back to me after a week. 5 days before I left, my dad finally got them to admit that my things wouldn't get there in time, and they still had no idea where they were. They were just not going to tell me!!! So I had to repurchase all new clothes, shoes, makeup, hair supplies, etc. for my wedding 5 days before I left! I have never been more stressed in my life and they didn't help one bit. Luckily they finally got me in touch with the actual moving company who had my things (Van Lines Express Brand LLC) and they were very helpful. The rep Becca told me they should have given me their number from the very start, and was amazed at how awful the situation was. Please please please save yourself the struggle and stress and DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM! I would give them -100 stars if I could.
